Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the calculation?
We use published emission factors from sources such as DEFRA 2026, Ember, the IEA, Our World in Data and the US EPA. Electricity uses your country’s grid mix.
How do carbon credits work?
1 carbon credit = 1 tonne of CO₂e reduced or removed. We buy them through CNaught, and each one is retired in a public registry so it can’t be sold again.
Can I track my impact over time?
Yes. Your dashboard shows your carbon balance since you started, every calculation and purchase, a map of the projects you funded and how you compare with the 1.5 °C target. You can also share a public impact page.
Do I need an account?
No. You can calculate and buy without one. A free account keeps your calculations, certificates and dashboard in one place.
