Fuzhou Hongmiaoling Landfill Gas

The Fuzhou Hongmiaoling project captures methane gas generated by decomposing organic waste in a major municipal landfill and converts it into clean electricity for local communities. Without intervention, this methane would be released directly into the atmosphere — a greenhouse gas over 80 times more potent than CO₂ over a 20-year period. The project features advanced gas collection systems, internal combustion engines, and continuous monitoring to ensure maximum capture efficiency. Beyond climate benefits, the project reduces local air pollution, eliminates odors, and provides renewable energy to thousands of households, supporting China's transition to cleaner distributed energy sources.
